In Winter
I yearn
For summer solitude
and autumnal ash
Of leather leaves
That saunter down for spring.
That make a laurel crown
For gentle grass and green.
In Summer
I wish
for winter withering
and blinding white
of silent snow
and lakeside jewel-laid.
And midst the quietude,
A snowy enfilade.

very eliot, colin.
with a touch of haiku.
more like emily dickinson and very good
Hmm, just insert a few emdashes and I guess it would be very much like Emily Dickinson.
I like this, I like it a lot.
Very nice metre and line setup.
Thou didst remind me, because the last snowstorm was only three months ago and yet it seems over half a year ago, with the mix of scorching middway weather and cold morning wind from the bay only offering so much reminiscence.
Emily Dickinson as I recall mostly capitalised the start of every line though, which I find a waste for the conveyance of valuable information (tone can be very much conveyed through case).
Here the case helps define rhythm and assign appropriate emphasis.
Very nice. I can only admire.
